UGC updates the list of entitled online programmes for 2026-27

UGC has refreshed its institution-wise list of entitled online programmes for the 2026-27 academic session. For applicants the practical effect is that entitlement must be re-checked for this session: some institutions have added specialisations, and a listing from last year is not evidence for this one.

Key takeaways

  • Entitlement is session-specific — verify 2026-27 before paying any fee.
  • Additions are mostly specialisations within already-entitled programme levels.
  • The DEB portal listing, not a brochure or aggregator page, is the document to rely on.

What changed

The refresh updates which institutions may run online programmes in the current session and which programmes are covered. Most movement is at specialisation level within existing management, commerce and computer-application programmes rather than new degree types.

What applicants should do

  1. Open the DEB portal and search your university's legal name.
  2. Confirm the 2026-27 session entry lists your exact programme and mode.
  3. Save a dated PDF of the listing with your application record.
  4. If the specialisation you were promised is missing, ask the university for written clarification before paying.

We update university pages on this site as official listings change, but the regulator's portal remains the authoritative source.

Frequently asked questions

Students admitted while a programme was entitled for their session are not affected by later list changes. The refresh matters for new admissions in 2026-27.

Entitlement is reviewed each academic session, with interim updates as institutions are added or amended.
